Friends of the Food Bank

The CABSBC Food Bank's most committed group of supporters. They give to the Food Bank on a regular basis so that we can secure and distribute food and other groceries to our hungry neighbor’s, day in and day out, all year long. You can sign up to give monthly, quarterly or yearly.

You determine the amount of money and frequency to be charged to your credit card. It is easy to keep track of your charitable giving and at the end of the year, you will receive a receipt for tax purposes totaling your yearly donation. To sign up for “Friends of the Food Bank”; contact Gerald Wilson at (909) 723-1583.

Donate "In Memory" or "In Honor" of Someone

Consider donating to The CAPSBC Food Bank in honor or memory of a friend or relative. Honorary gifts can express love, appreciation, congratulations or best wishes to those you admire. Gifts can also be made in honor of special occasions like anniversaries, birthdays, bar and bat mitzvahs, and holidays.

When you make a contribution to honor someone special, we’ll send a letter to notify that special person of your contribution (the amount will not be specified in the letter). Simply let us know the occasion and the name and address of the honoree. Gifts may also be made in memory of a loved one who has passed away, to remember his or her lifetime accomplishments. Your gift can be made by credit card over the phone by contacting CAPSBC’s Food Banks Program Manager (909) 723-1580, or  online (Click Here) Gifts may also be made by check (click here).

In-Kind Donation

The CAPBC Food Bank is in need of a variety of new and like new goods and equipment that can help to defer our operational expenses. You or your organization can donate one or more of these items or, if you like, provide the funds to purchase the item(s).  Some of the things we are in need of are:

  1. Copier paper; standard printer/copier office paper. At $40 per case.
  2. Paper/plastic bags.  Plain at $20 per case (see our “Ad Bag” program below).
  3. Printer/copier ink cartridges*. At $50 ea.
  4. Electric pallet jacks. At $3000 ea.
  5. Cardboard boxes to pack/issue food in.  At $50 per case.
  6. Diesel cargo truck (class B) that is capable of transporting a 20,000 lb payload.  At $55,000.

Ad Bag Program

How would you like your business, group or club to reach close to eleven thousand families this month and help the CAPSBC Food Bank while doing so?  Well thanks to our “Ad Bag Program” now you can! From Montclair to Needles, we reach families throughout the Inland Empire! For a nominal donation, your donated, standard paper/plastic grocery bags, printed with your message will be distributed via our network of non-profit agencies, which will in turn use these bags to provide food to our clients!  It’s a win-win proposition!   Contact the Food Bank for details.

Corporate Matching

More and more companies are encouraging employees to get involved in their community. Some offer corporate matching!

What is corporate matching?

Many employers will match each donation you make to a charity. Your employer may ask you to fill out a form listing the charity and the donated amount; then your employer will cut a check to your charity for the same amount. Your donations to the CAPSBC Food Bank could double thanks to your employer.

Find out if your company offers corporate matching!

Check with the human resources officer or CEO at your organization or business to see if they offer corporate matching!  We will do our best to publicly thank all corporate donors on our website and in the local media.

Donate Food

Some of the items above such as the bags and the large truck can be embossed with an acknowledgement thanking your company or organization or in memory of a loved one.
* Please call or e-mail us for make and model numbers.

You can bring in your food to donate to the CAPSBC food Bank.  Some of the ways you can do this is;

  • Use your “two-for-one coupons” and give the extra food to the CAPSBC Food Bank to feed needy persons.
  • Shop for the needy; just buy enough food to feed a family of three for a week, and bring it in.  We will see that it goes to a hungry family.
  • Purchase a case or cases of food such; as tuna, beef stew from a wholesale store and donate them to the CAPSBC Food Bank.
  • Purchase a local grocery store gift card and bring it to the CAPSBC Food Bank.

To deliver, just call (909) 723-1580 or click here for directions.  The address is 678 S. Tippecanoe Ave. San Bernardino Ca. 92415.  We are in-between Mill and Central streets.

Delivering Food to the Food Bank

Of course we will make every effort to pick up you donation, but because the CAPSBC Food Bank relies largely on volunteer labor, we consider delivery of the collected food to the warehouse as part of your donation.

Our warehouse is open for deliveries Monday through Friday. Click here for directions. Please call to make delivery arrangements before you come in.
When we receive your donation, we will weigh it and let you know how many pounds of food were collected. We can also provide you with information concerning the number of meals your donation will provide to people in need.

Thank you in advance for your time, energy and creativity. As a result of your leadership and interest, you will have helped many people in need.
